The short version. If you subscribe to the Beta Tester list, we use your email to send you the daily Choreodle puzzle and occasional beta announcements — nothing else. One email a day. Unsubscribe in one click, any time.

1. Data controller

The data controller for your subscription data is Osuuskunta Vinde, a cooperative registered in Finland (“we”, “us”, “Choreodle”).

2. What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to send you the daily email:

  • Email address — required, so we can send you the puzzle.
  • Name — if the signup form offers a name field, it’s optional and used only to greet you in the email.
  • Subscription metadata — the timestamp you subscribed and the IP address used at signup, kept by our email processor as proof of consent.
  • Email engagement — our email processor records whether each email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can tell whether the daily puzzle is actually getting through.

We do not ask for anything else on the signup form, and we don’t combine your subscription with in‑app gameplay data.

3. Why we collect it

  • To send you the daily Choreodle puzzle by email.
  • To send occasional beta‑tester announcements (new dances, feature rollouts, bug fixes we’d like you to try).
  • To honour your unsubscribe request and keep you off the list after you leave.

We do not profile you, sell your email, share it with advertisers, or use it for targeting.

We rely on your consent under GDPR art. 6(1)(a), given when you submit the signup form. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of any email we send you — one click, no login, no questions. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect processing we already did while consent was valid.

5. Who processes it

We use MailerLite as our email processor under a written data‑processing agreement. As an EU customer, our contracting entity is MailerLite Limited (Ireland), with primary storage in the EEA. MailerLite may use its own sub‑processors (for infrastructure, deliverability and support) — see their current list and privacy information:

We don’t share your email with anyone else. We never sell it.

6. Retention

  • Active subscription — we keep your email on the list until you unsubscribe.
  • After unsubscribe — your address is removed from the active list within 30 days. A minimal entry may remain on a suppression list so we can honour your unsubscribe and avoid accidentally emailing you again.
  • Engagement history — opens and clicks are retained only while you’re subscribed and deleted on unsubscribe, subject to our processor’s standard rolling logs.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Finnish Data Protection Act you have the right to:

  • Access — a copy of the data we hold about your subscription.
  • Rectify — correct an inaccurate email or name.
  • Erase — have your subscription data deleted.
  • Restrict — ask us to pause certain processing.
  • Portability — receive your data in a common format.
  • Object — to direct marketing (unsubscribing does this instantly).
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, with effect for the future.

If you believe we’ve processed your data unlawfully you can lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi) or the authority of your place of residence.

8. International transfers

Our primary processing takes place in the EU/EEA. Where a sub‑processor is located outside the EEA, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism under GDPR Chapter V.

9. Changes

We’ll post the latest version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes we’ll let subscribers know by email before they take effect.
